ESFJ
The everyday you
As an ESFJ, you notice what the people around you need and you provide it, with warmth and with determination. You draw on a long memory of what has worked and what people like. You can see possibilities when the moment calls for them. And your weakest habit, the one that rattles you fastest, is cold, impersonal logic.

tending the room Fe · comparing with what's been Si · seeing what could be Ne · making it make sense Ti
At your best you are the organizer of community: warm, conscientious, cooperative, the one who makes the room work and remembers everyone in it. The cost is that your sense of yourself leans on being appreciated, and a detached critique, however fair, can land like a wound.

making it make sense Ti · seeing what could be Ne · comparing with what's been Si · tending the room Fe
You admire the person who wants a logical explanation for everything and does not much mind whether the room agrees: quiet, contained, focused in depth, skeptical. That cool internal logic is your weakest habit turned into her strength, so it fascinates you and it measures you. You grow toward it by holding one opinion that nobody has approved.

staying true Fi · noticing what's here Se · sensing where it's going Ni · making it work Te
Under stress the warm facilitator turns rigid and severe. You condemn people in sweeping terms, chase an absolute answer through experts and advice, and withdraw into gloom. That is your Unconscious, your four habits turned the other way. It is also why someone who keeps her values to herself and quietly does as she pleases can be the hardest for you to bear.

making it work Te · sensing where it's going Ni · noticing what's here Se · staying true Fi
When you are on duty you play the commander: decisive, strategic, frank, organizing people toward a goal and impatient with anyone who slows it. You can carry it through a crisis. Carried longer it costs you, because it is built from the habits you own least, and it asks you to run past the very feelings you are best at reading.

WestYour family
An ESFJ’s four selves are ESFJ, INTP, ISFP, and ENTJ. Those four types share one set of selves, which makes them a family, and every one of the sixteen types belongs to one of four families. That is why your other three are the same as every other ESFJ’s, and why they can be compared with anyone’s. ESFJ is in the West family.
The types most often mistaken for yours
| Your type, or its neighbor | The question that separates them |
|---|---|
| ESFJ or ENFJ | Both Fe-lead; auxiliary Ni vs Si. Is your care grounded in proven experience and the certainty of right now, or oriented toward future potential? |
| ESFJ or ESFP | One letter apart, no shared functions: does harmony lead (Fe-Si) or the vivid present (Se-Fi)? |
| ESFJ or ISFJ | Same functions, different lead: the room's harmony first (Fe) or remembered detail first (Si)? |
